Candy AI: what it costs, how tokens work and is it safe

You have seen an ad for Candy AI, or a friend mentioned it, and you want to know what you are signing up for. This page covers what the service does, what it really costs once the tokens run out, what happens to your conversations and how to leave. Candy AI is for adults only (18+).
What is Candy AI?
Candy AI is a chat service where you talk to an AI character as if it were a girlfriend or boyfriend. You can choose among more than 100 ready-made characters, sorted into AI girlfriends, AI boyfriends and anime characters, or build your own: look, voice, personality and hobbies.
The character answers in text and can also send:
- voice messages and voice calls;
- pictures generated on request;
- short AI-generated videos.
Everything runs in the web browser. Candy AI does not have an app in the App Store or Google Play: on a phone, you open candy.ai in your browser and add it to your home screen. The site is in English, with a French version, and the company says more languages are coming.
Warning
Apps called “Candy AI” in the App Store and Google Play are made by other companies, and several websites copy the name with a slightly different address. The only official address is candy.ai, run by EverAI Limited.
How much does Candy AI cost?
Candy AI does not publish its prices on its public pages: they appear once you have created an account, and the site often shows a discount banner such as “Premium -70%”. The figures below are the ones most review sites reported in October 2026. Some older pages still show $12.99 for the monthly plan.

Several sites also mention a first month at $9.99, and a more expensive tier with more tokens each month. The price you see at checkout is the one that counts: write it down before you pay.
How tokens work
Premium covers unlimited text messages. Everything else costs tokens: pictures, voice messages, calls and videos. A picture uses a few tokens, a video several more, and more detailed characters use more tokens. Review sites estimate that a regular user of pictures and voice spends between $15 and $40 a month on extra token packs, on top of the subscription.
Two rules from the terms of service matter here. Tokens left at the end of a billing period expire: they are not carried over. And tokens from a cancelled plan cannot be moved to a new one.
Tip
If you mostly want to chat, the 100 monthly tokens are enough. If pictures and voice are what interest you, start with the monthly plan for one month and look at how many tokens you used before paying for a year.
Is Candy AI free?
Candy AI has a free trial: you can try it without a card, with a limited number of messages and a few tokens. Candy AI does not publish exactly what the free version includes. In practice, the free messages are enough to see how a character writes, but not for pictures, voice or long conversations.

Candy AI is a real company with an address in Malta, and it delivers what it sells. The questions to ask are about your data and your money.

Candy AI says it does not sell your personal data, but it shares it with the companies it works with: payments, hosting, moderation, AI model providers and age verification. Data can be transferred outside the EU, including to the United States.
Payments, refunds and chargebacks
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period. The terms of service, revised on September 22, 2026, allow a refund request within 24 hours of a payment, and only if you have used 20 tokens or fewer. Token packs are refunded only if you have not used any. Only card payments can be refunded, not crypto. In the EU and the UK, you also have 14 days to withdraw from your first purchase, minus what you have used.
If you dispute a payment with your bank, Candy AI cancels your subscription and removes your remaining tokens at once.
Warning
Candy AI’s page on Trustpilot is no longer visible: Trustpilot says the business goes against its guidelines. On Reddit and on review sites, the most common complaints are about token costs and about charges after a cancellation that users say did not work.
What users say about Candy AI
User reviews come back to the same points. On the plus side, the pictures and the voice are considered among the best of the AI girlfriend apps, and creating your own character is easy. On the minus side, the monthly bill grows quickly with tokens, the character’s memory gets weaker in very long conversations, and customer support is described as slow.
How to cancel Candy AI
You cancel from your account, in a few clicks, at any time before the renewal date.
- Sign in on candy.ai and open Settings.
- Click Unsubscribe and confirm.
- Take a screenshot of the confirmation: it is your proof if a charge appears later.
Your Premium access stays open until the end of the period you have paid, and you are not charged for the next one. Tokens you have left are lost at that date.
